OUR PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Trains and buses provide communities with ways to access essential services such as work, healthcare and education. Being able to easily access employment, health and support opportunities is an important part of everyday life, even for those with their own vehicle.
Growing communities in the city's south-west are missing out on public transport with the Salisbury to Beaudesert passenger rail being over 20 years away. The Queensland Government has added thousands of residents to this area without making sure that public transport is available. Delivery of passenger rail between Salisbury and Beaudesert would give residents improved access to areas such as the Brisbane CBD, airports and major hospital and health services.
Our city's residents catch buses that sit in peak hour traffic because the South East Busway ends at Eight Mile Plains. Extension of the South East Busway all the way to Loganholme would reduce congestion and save travel time for people using public transport that isn't stuck in peak hour traffic.
Easy access to public transport is something all Queensland residents should enjoy.
If you're sick of the lack of public transport options in your community, tell your candidate today that it's time for Logan's fair share.
